Fourth case confirmed by laboratory diagnosis

Morning of 10th May, 2009, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced fourth case of current influenza A (H1N1).

The case belongs to the same high school group as initial three cases which returned from Canada through Detroit and has been quarantined since arrival in Narita. He was reported to be asymptomatic on arrival but came forward with high fever on 9th during medical surveillance period. Laboratory results from RPHL and NIID confirmed positive for the current influenza A (H1N1) this morning.
